Riverside.fm launches new 'magic editor'

• Riverside․fm has announced a further $9.5m in funding. The company has also debuted its “magic editor” feature, to automate recording, editing and uploading.

• Many shows are still missing from the new Apple Podcasts system, but it appears to be gaining stability.

  • “With the migration of shows to the new system there was a delay in shows appearing in the store and being playable,” says an Apple Podcasts support person.
  • Missing episodes: “We’ve been having issues with the crawler. Hoping to have it resolved today,” a mystery Apple person tells Transistor’s Justin Jackson.
  • Public URLs shouldn’t have been removed. “That’s a bug. There was no intention to remove feed URLs en masse.” No word on what happens now though.

• Google Podcasts has launched their new customisable recommendations in the Google Podcasts app. It’s supposed to be available for all users running the beta version of the Google app on Android. We are. It’s not.

• Terra Firma’s Casey Helmick writes “Why I Sold My Podcast Company… To A Literary Agency”, telling the story of why and what’s next.

• Broccoli Productions is the latest podcast producer to sign with Hollywood talent agency WME.

• AudRec, in closed alpha, promises to “create the podcast your subscribers want”, and looks like a listener suggestion box.

• Chadd Hollowed discovers fifteen shows in the Apple Podcasts 'freemium’ subscription category as of today. One is The Lincolnshire Poacher podcast, named after a secret British spy radio station. Hat-tip to the Apple team.

YEA Networks have signed As For Me And My House, one of the top Christian podcasts in the US. The agreement includes distribution, production, marketing and sales.

In Podland this week, Sam Sethi and Podnews’s Editor James Cridland talk about… obviously… Apple. And Facebook. And Apple again. Includes Tim Cook and Mark Zuckerburg (well, clips of them anyway).
