From Poland comes a new podcast (in development for over a year, says audio producer Wojciech Oleksiak): Stories from the Eastern West. “An audio documentary series that reveals hidden history from central and eastern Europe, like the brown bear who fought in World War II, the origins of an iconic David Bowie song, and the only Rolling Stones gig behind the Iron Curtain.”

MixCloud, a DJ music hosting platform, announce a deal with Warner Music. Previously, it used the standard statutory internet radio licences; going direct means potential flexibility with rates and usage models. WMG is the third largest record company in the world.

Noted - in an ad on Facebook, no less - Rev, an audio transcription service. Costs USD$1 per minute, and a 12 hour turnround. Also in this space (and perhaps even more relevant for podcasting): Sonix, which does fast transcriptions and allows you to edit podcasts as if you’re editing a word processing document.
