  • Roman Mars writes some guidelines about podcasting, and tweeted them all. “If you have 100,000 listeners and you edit out one useless minute you are saving 100,000 wasted minutes in the world. You’re practically a hero.” (Thanks, Whooshkaa’s Cory Layton)

  • Anchor launched a feature called Cohosts, which helps aspiring podcasters find a cohost that shares their interests. Their CEO, Michael Mignano, did an AMA on Reddit answering questions about the feature and the product in general. (I, of course, had a question).

  • Spotted: a neat visualisation tool for podcasts in this tweet - the product is Toronto-based Audiogram: neatly, it even works with the sound turned down.

  • In March, Radio France broke its podcast record, surpassing 61.5 million downloads. The number has doubled in two years, according to the company’s Hyperradio newsletter.

  • The BBC spoke a little about the budget they are putting into their new non-broadcast podcasts.

  • Many people fall asleep listening to podcasts. We learn today about a podcast especially made for that: Sleep Whispers, a podcast which is 100% whispered. Shhh.

  • Podcasts often offer a different view of the world. No Wrong Answers is a teacher-centred podcast (from Kansas MI, USA) in which real teachers explain how current events, news stories and cultural trends are filtering down to their classrooms and impacting their students. It’s hosted by public radio news anchor Kyle Palmer.
