The News Agents splits with Persephonica

• Chart-topping UK podcast The News Agents is no longer being produced by Persephonica, the production company owned by Dino Sofos (above, right). The show is, says Edison Podcast Metrics, the #14 show in the UK. Deadline suggests that there had been a breakdown in relations after the launch of Political Currency, which Global saw as a rival show.

• The podcast that released an “AI George Carlin” episode has settled with Carlin’s estate. Terms weren’t given.

• New feature: if your podcast app understands an OPML feed, this is for you. Every page with a list of podcasts, like The Ambies winners or Edison Podcast Metrics top 25 for the UK for example, now comes with an OPML feed so you can import all those shows straight into your podcast player. Find the OPML feed linked at the bottom of the page: they work with Pocket Casts, AntennaPod, Overcast, Podbean, Castro, GoodPods and more.

• Christian Luiga has been named as Spotify’s new Chief Financial Officer. He will start in October, says his previous employer, Saab. Ben Kung will be acting CFO until then; Spotify’s previous CFO Paul Vogel, who sold $9.3mn of Spotify shares on the day the company laid-off 1,500 people , leaves Spotify at the end of this month.

• Charlie Smith has joined workflow automation and ad management company Frequency as Technical Account Manager.

• Millie Webber has been hired as a digital agent in the UK for talent agency WME. She’ll have a focus on creators and podcasting.

• Jo Bucci has been appointed as Chair of audioadpro, a digital audio advertising platform.
