Yesterday, we reported incorrect information about Spotify’s measurements, as heard on an industry podcast. Spotify measures a “listen” in a way similar to the IAB’s guidelines - as long as you listen for 60 seconds or more, you count. They additionally give “stream starts”. (The difference between the two shows how many listeners you lose within 60 seconds). We’ve updated the post, and our podcast statistics article, and regret the error.

We’re noting that the Apple iTunes search API is currently stale - many of the above new podcasts aren’t appearing in the API search results. Our search engine is also now querying the ListenNotes API - intriguing differences for a search for, say, Kermode.

- BBC World Service and Sundance Institute premiere Neighbourhood, a five-part audio series airing worldwide on the BBC World Service and also available in podcast and streaming audio formats. The press release says that each episode is introduced by Sundance Institute founder Robert Redford.
- Acast have also launched On the line. Hosted by Estée Lalonde, it will focus on the shared experiences of women and cover every sleepover discussion topic you’ve ever been curious about.
