• Exclusive: We’ve the podcast winners for the 30th Annual Webby Awards. Podcast Company of the Year went to iHeart Media. Best New Podcast is Goalhanger’s The Rest Is Science. Good Hang with Amy Poehler won four awards, while The Jamie Kern Lima Show won five awards for an episode with Michelle Obama. We’ve a full list of the winners before anyone else.

• Another streaming service is to get podcasts. Fox One has announced eight new podcast shows will be available on the platform, sourced from Fox News Media and Red Seat Ventures.

• Is Alex Cooper’s podcast network feeling a little under the weather? In a paywalled article for Bloomberg, Ashley Carman tells stories of high employee turnover, alleges bad behaviour from CEO Matt Kaplan, and, cites Podscribe’s numbers to describe a failure of the Unwell Network to produce a hit other than Call Her Daddy.

• BBC Studios, SiriusXM and 99% Invisible are working together on a major new series: A History of the United States in 100 Objects. The show will be hosted by Roman Mars, and will premier on May 19, within the 99% Invisible feed.

• In Australia, podcasting business SHOUT Collective has been acquired by Rifle Agency, in a move to enhance Rifle’s capability to market across YouTube, audio and social.

• Magellan AI released its list of top podcast spenders, movers and shakers for March. Quince is the biggest spender at $6.5mn, with Fast Growing Trees the fastest grower in podcast advertising, reaching to the sky spending $1.6mn last month.

• Adobe Premier Pro now offers a new “on-device” speech-to-text transcription tool, which runs entirely on your laptop, so you can transcribe video and audio anywhere, without the audio leaving the device. The tool claims it can transcribe an hour of audio in less than a minute.
