  • Good luck to those nominated for the British Podcast Awards. The ceremony begins at 8pm on Saturday night.

  • Making money from podcasting might be as easy as making your home studio famous, getting the President on your show, and then selling your house. Marc Maron’s garage (and home) has sold for way over his asking price.

  • Amanda McLoughlin posts a comprehensive guide to podcast pre-production. “Your podcast title needs to tell people what your show is about. Also? Try not to use “pod” or “cast.”” Also try five steps to podcast magic from Wondery’s Hernan Lopez.

  • New podcasts include:

    • Polarised is the new podcast from the RSA - the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. The RSA’s Matthew Taylor and the author of 'Born Liars’ and 'Curious’, Ian Leslie, investigate the forces driving us further apart – and what can be done about them.
    • Dead Rock Stars (from 7digital) is a celebration of the lives of many musicians who are, sadly, no longer with us. “The first episode is about Lemmy, and is fantastic”, producer Ian Callaghan tells us.
  • New seasons: Panoply’s Malcom Gladwell’s Revisionist History starts Season 3. Radiotopia’s Love + Radio is back for Season 7.

  • Cleverly relevant listicle: Top 10 wedding podcasts (Castbox). As a Brit, I’ll be sitting beside the television all weekend long: just in case anyone has the silly idea of trying to turn it on.
