- Jan 26: Edison Podcast Metrics released the top 50 Podcasts in the US for Q4/25. No change in the top five, but new entries from, among others, The Diary of a CEO, Dumb Blonde, and Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce. Serial, which had been in the chart forever, has finally dropped out of the top 50, more than 11 years since its release.
- Jan 13: Where do most people listen to podcasts? At home. And is that number increasing? Yes - indeed, it's at a new high, according to Edison Podcast Metrics.
- Nov 26, 2025: The biggest “history” podcasts - literally, the ones with history in their title - were unveiled by Edison Podcast Metrics. #3 is Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History; and the Goalhanger show The Rest is History at #2. The #1 show is from Audioboom.
- Oct 20, 2025: Edison Research released the Top 50 Podcasts in the US for Q3 2025, from Edison Podcast Metrics. The survey-based data lists all shows and was continuously collected in July, August and September. The Charlie Kirk Show jumped to #17, while The Meidas Touch Podcast also entered the top 20 for the first time.
- Aug 8, 2025: Nielsen launched Nielsen Podcast Fusion, a new dataset powered by Edison Research. It integrates Edison Podcast Metrics into Nielsen’s widely used media planning tool, Nielsen Media Impact (NMI). NPR and Ocean Media are among the charter subscribers at launch.
