- Nov 19: Libsyn is now v2.2 certified under the IAB’s Podcast Measurement Guidelines. The compliance was completed in time for Halloween, but has just been announced by the IAB.
- Nov 7: Elsie Escobar has announced that she has left Libsyn. Inducted into the Podcasting Hall of Fame in 2017, she had worked for Libsyn for almost nineteen years. We reported on the sudden closure of The Feed yesterday, which she had been hosting since July 2013. “I feel immense gratitude and pride — for the people, the lessons, and the legacy we co-created.”
- Nov 6: One of the longest-running “podcasts about podcasting” from a podcast company, The Feed The Official Libsyn Podcast, is to close. Hosted by Elsie Escobar and Rob Walch with more than 300 episodes, The Feed has been going since July 2013 - the first episode covering Windows Phone 8 podcast apps and Stitcher stats. A Libsyn spokesperson told us: “As Libsyn looks ahead to 2026, we’re excited to introduce new ways to support and celebrate our creator and advertiser community across all our platforms. Stay tuned – more ways to learn, connect, and create are on the way.”

There were 1.5mn new podcast episodes in October. In terms of podcast hosts by episode share, 29.5% of them were hosted with Spotify; Spreaker is at #2 with 18.5%; and Buzzsprout is at #3 with 10%. Perplexity was called-out earlier in the year by Cloudflare for using “a generic browser intended to impersonate Google Chrome on macOS”.
