- Dec 5: Triton Digital’s Omny Studio announced support for video podcasting. It’ll let you produce an RSS feed with video, and automatically produce an audio RSS feed from it if you need that; and dynamically-inserted ads will come soon, we’re told. This is in addition to using Spotify and YouTube’s own systems. (The system encodes all video at 720p, and doesn’t yet support alternate enclosures).
- Aug 4: Our list includes podcast hosting companies. Spotify’s Megaphone host 20, Simplecast from SiriusXM host 12, ART19 and Omny Studio host 5.
- May 2: Triton Digital’s Omny Studio has “got it goin’ on”, with a new benchmarking report. The “larger than life” data shows the differences between a hit podcast in Australia, the US and the UK - “anywhere for you” - and if you’re curious to “get down” with the data, then this post is “the one” to take a look at. (We don’t recognise half these Backstreet Boys tracks either).
- Mar 28: Pod_Scope calculates downloads via server logs using rules from an outdated version of the IAB Podcast Guidelines. It measures participating publishers only, hosted on either Triton Digital’s Omny Studio, or Bauer Media’s Podplay. The public broadcaster RTP is one of the publishers that is not taking part.
- Mar 20: The show is made by the BBC’s commercial arm, and will contain advertising, even inside the UK. It will not be available within the public service funded BBC Sounds (it’s everywhere else though); and is hosted by Triton Digital’s Omny Studio.
