- Jan 28: SiriusXM has pulled its video versions of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy from Spotify along with other Unwell Network shows. The shows will be viewable on YouTube and the SiriusXM app. Cooper posted on Instagram saying that you can watch on YouTube “for free”.
- Jan 10: The Trendcast is new from SiriusXM - and gives an in-depth look at the evolving podcast landscape through the lens of the people driving the most change: the creators. The show reflects on the hottest podcast trends from 2024, as showcased in SiriusXM Media’s 2024 Podcast Trends Report.
- Jan 9: At CES, SiriusXM CEO Jennifer Witz appeared on-stage with Ashley Flowers. “We are entertained and informed by audio,” said Witz in her opening comments.
- Jan 8: Podtrac released its US rankers for December 2024. Almost all publishers saw a decline in traffic, as is normal. Acast leapt from #5 to #3, but the company releases its data after its quarterly financial reports, so while everyone else is reporting on December, the Acast numbers are for October (and are actually unchanged month-on-month). NPR News Now returned to #1 podcast; two shows from SiriusXM are new in the podcast charts, though SiriusXM isn’t listed in the publishers chart.
- Dec 9, 2024: SiriusXM has launched the Women’s Empowerment Network, starting with two new shows. “The Women’s Empowerment Network is a destination where women can come together and be heard in ways that are authentic, uplifting, and transformative,” said Karen Hunter.
