Press Release · via Acast ·

Acast today announces the appointment of Mark Bulling as VP Product.

Bulling joins from Choreograph, WPP Media’s data and technology company, where he spent two and a half years leading AI and innovation. There he founded and led the Prototyping & Innovation team - a cross-disciplinary group of engineers, designers and researchers building new solutions for media planning and buying - and led the development and adoption of Open Media Assistant, WPP Media’s internal AI platform.

He brings more than fifteen years’ experience in digital advertising, across both the buy and sell sides. Before Choreograph, he was SVP Product Innovation at EssenceMediacom, where he used machine learning to improve campaign performance. Earlier, he was Senior Product Strategist at Apple Ad Platforms, working on the international expansion of Search Ads, and spent five years at Facebook.

At Acast, Bulling will lead product strategy across the company’s creator and advertiser offerings, bringing product and commercial even closer together across the business. Based out of Acast Studios London, he will report to SVP Product & Engineering Ioana Havsfrid.

“Businesses like ours thrive when product and commercial move hand in hand - that’s how you build the things that creators want to use, audiences enjoy, and advertisers want to buy,” said Greg Glenday, CEO of Acast. “As podcasting moves increasingly omnichannel, that’s truer than ever. Mark has spent fifteen years working across both the buy and sell sides, which is precisely the experience our next phase needs.”

“Acast has strong growth and real momentum, at exactly the moment podcasting is expanding into something much broader,” said Mark Bulling. “Creators are building audiences across audio, video and social, while measurement and buying evolve fast alongside them. Acast has the scale, the creators and the products to shape what happens next, and to help define how this ecosystem gets measured and monetised. I can’t wait to get started.”
